See where your money goes with Spending

Spending turns your uploaded statements into a clear picture: money in and out, top categories and merchants, recurring bills and trends.

What Spending shows

Spending is built from the bank and card statements you upload. It shows money in and out, where it goes and what repeats every month. Business workspaces see it as "Cash flow & spending".

Note: Do not see Spending in the sidebar? Turn it on in Settings → Modules. It reads the statements you upload in Banking, so keep Banking on too.

The tabs

  • Overview: money in, money out and net, your savings rate (personal) or operating cash ratio (business), top categories and what changed.
  • Categories and Merchants: where the money went. Click a row to see the lines behind it.
  • Recurring: subscriptions and bills you pay every month. You can mark a merchant as recurring yourself.
  • Trends: how each category moves over the last 12 or 24 months.
  • Accounts: money in and out per bank or card account.

Choose the period and the accounts

  1. Pick a period at the top: This month, Last month, Last 3, 6 or 12 months, This year or a custom range.
  2. Choose which accounts to include. "All accounts" uses every bank and card account.
  3. To save a mix you use often (for example only the household cards), choose "Manage views…", click "New view", pick the accounts and any categories to leave out, and save it.
Tip: A month still in progress is marked as such, and comparisons wait until it is complete, so a half month never looks like a drop.

Make the numbers better

  • Upload every month for every account. The Overview warns about gaps and accounts that have not been updated.
  • Categorize new lines in Banking → "Review transactions". Uncategorized money is shown on its own.
  • Export any tab to keep or share the figures.
