Move your books from QuickBooks
Bring customers, vendors, invoices, bills, expenses and payments over from QuickBooks Online, by connecting it or uploading its exports.
Two ways to move
- Connect QuickBooks Online and let Sumqo pull your books directly. This is the easiest way.
- Upload export files from QuickBooks (CSV, Excel, or the full Export Data ZIP) if you cannot connect.
Both ways bring categories, products and services, customers, vendors, invoices, bills, expenses and payments.
Connect QuickBooks Online
- Go to Settings → Integrations and open QuickBooks Online.
- Click "Connect to QuickBooks", sign in to QuickBooks and allow access to your company.
- Back in Sumqo, under "Import from QuickBooks", choose whether to also bring each customer's and vendor's balance (when offered), and the date it is "As of".
- Click "Run import". The page shows the progress and, at the end, anything that was skipped and why.
Tip: Running the import again updates what is already there instead of making duplicates, so you can re-run it until you switch over for good.
Upload QuickBooks files instead
- In QuickBooks Online, export your lists (for example Sales → Customers → Export to Excel), or export everything at once with ⚙ → Tools → Export Data.
- In Sumqo, go to Settings → Import / Export and, under "Import from a file", choose the .csv, .xlsx or .zip file.
- Sumqo detects what each file is and shows a preview. Nothing is imported yet.
- Review it and click the Import button.
After the move
- Check a few customer and vendor balances against QuickBooks.
- Run a Profit & Loss for last year in both and compare the totals.
- Upload your bank statements in Banking and reconcile from the switch-over date.
- When you are happy, click "Disconnect" on the QuickBooks page.
