Manage customers and vendors

Keep the people and companies you sell to and buy from in one place: contacts, addresses, payment terms, tax details, notes and files.

Add a customer

  1. Go to Customers and click "New Customer".
  2. Fill in the Profile tab (name, company, email, phone).
  3. Use the other tabs as needed: Contacts, Addresses, Billing (payment terms and opening balance), Tax and Notes.
  4. Click "Save".
Tip: Already owed money from before you started with Sumqo? Enter it as an opening balance on the Billing tab, so the customer's balance is right from day one.

Add a vendor or subcontractor

  1. Go to Vendors and click "New Vendor".
  2. Choose whether it is a Vendor or a Subcontractor, and fill in the Profile tab.
  3. Add the address, payment terms, tax details and notes on the other tabs, then click "Save".
  4. Pay contractors? Use "Request W-9" in the vendor form to email them a link to fill in their W-9.

Everything about one customer

Click a customer to open their page. The tabs keep everything together: Overview, Activity, Emails, Statement, Messages, Notes, Attachments, Contracts and Access.

  • Statement: see and send what the customer owes.
  • Attachments: keep signed agreements, IDs or any file with the customer.
  • Emails: every email Sumqo sent them and whether it was opened.

Send statements to several customers

On the Customers page, click "Send statements…" to email statements in one go. Tick "With open balance" first if you only want to remind people who owe you.

Note: If an email bounces, the customer shows "Email bounced — update the address". Fix the address and send again.
